Architecture firm Brandstetter, Carrol, & Zofcin, Inc was contracted to do the design of the entire area. The skate elements within were designed by LSA members Vince Frantz, Mike Larkey, Andy Liedel and Stosh Burgess.
Lakewood Skatepark Phase II has been in fundraising and development since 2008. The city has contracted with California Skateparks to break ground summer 2024.
Helmets and pads are highly recommended at the skatepark.
The skatepark is open from 9am to 9pm everyday unless it is raining or snowing. The lights are on until 9pm if it is dark.
Yes - there are two security cameras that record the park. Several bike riders and taggers have been caught as a result.
Bikes of any kind are not allowed in the skatepark. Police enforce this rule and will respond if any bikes are ridden within the park.
